Important Provider Updates:

NPI Initiative

Effective May 1, 2008, Bravo Health complies with CMS regulations that require a valid National Provider Identifier on all submitted claims. This regulation pertains to both electronic (8371, and 837P) and paper (UB04 and CMS-1500) claims. All Part A and B claims submitted to Bravo Health must contain a valid National Provider Identifier (NPI) number in the primary provider fields, i.e., billing, pay-to provider, and /or rendering provider.

Timely Filing Period for Paper and Electronic Claims

Claims must be submitted with all required information within 365 days (or the time period specified in your Provider Agreement) of the date on which the service was rendered. For institutional claims that include span dates of service, the "Through" date on the claim will be used to determine the date of service for timely filing. For professional claims submitted by physicians and other suppliers that include span dates of service (such as supplies and rental items), the line item "From" will be used to determine the date of service for timely filing. If a line item "From" date is not timely, but the "To" date is timely, Bravo Health will split the line item and deny untimely services as not timely filed.
