The Texas Medicaid Vendor Drug Program (VDP) is responsible for administering prescription benefits for STAR+PLUS Members as well as managing the claims processing and network management functions. Providers can obtain a searchable drug listing and prior authorization requirements on the VDP website. Providers can pre-authorize drugs by calling the Texas Prior Authorization Help Desk at 1-877-PA-TEXAS.
Prescription drugs are not covered by STAR+PLUS for dually-eligible Members. Dually-eligible Members receive prescription drug coverage through Medicare Part D.
